Family Therapy

Looking for family therapy? As a parent myself, I bring both professional experience and personal understanding to this work. These relationships are among the most complex. The history is long, the feelings run deep, and the patterns that develop over years can feel impossible to shift. They are shaped by decades of dynamics, often marked by unspoken hurt, or the slow accumulation of distance. And yet they are also among the most moveable, when the right conditions are created. Repair is possible more often than people expect. What one person cannot say alone, they can sometimes say when others are present. The changes that happen in family work are often ones that no amount of individual therapy could have produced alone.
Much of my family work involves adult children and parents, however family therapy is also well suited when a child or teenager is struggling with anxiety, school, identity, or their place within the family. When a young person is having difficulty, the whole family feels it. Bringing everyone into the room together is often the most direct and effective way to understand what is happening and begin to shift it.
I have training in Emotionally Focused Therapy and additionally in EFT for families training, I use my psychodynamic, trauma-informed training, IFS, and dialogue practices.
